Summer Dates in Indianapolis 2021

  • by

I may be showing my youth here, but does this time of year make anyone else think of the beginning of Highschool Musical 2 with everyone whispering “summer…summer…summer.” Just me? Okay. Anyways, summer is here and I’m planning on spending as much of it as I can poolside in a bikini with a cold drink in hand (frozen margarita anyone?). Not your style? Here are a couple of ideas for activities we can do together this summer.

Symphony on the Prairie (June – Sept)

I love a good picnic and I love the symphony and this is the best of both worlds. Let’s cuddle on a blanket, sipping wine and enjoying the music together.

Van Gogh Lume (July)

This traveling exhibition is coming to the Indianapolis Museum of Art in July and you better believe I’m going to be buying tickets as soon as they go on sale. The question is, who’s coming with me?

Indiana State Fair (August)

I try to go to the Indiana State Fair at least once a summer if not more. I love the food, the art, the food, people watching, food, you get the idea. I highly recommend Ben’s soft pretzels (yes the line is worth it) and the fresh salt water taffy.

Amusement Parks

I’ll admit, I’m a bit of an adrenaline junkie. The first time I rode a roller coaster, I was hooked. There are a host of parks within a few hours drive of Indy and I’m always down to hop on a plane to go down to Orlando or LA to one of the bigger parks (Disney or Universal anyone?).

None of these spark your fancy? Check out my post on spring date ideas as most of those carry over to summer as well.
